This exquisite rug is crafted using time-honored techniques, with local wool spun on a distaff, woven by master artisans, and finished naturally with herbs and plant-based materials, guided solely by the elements of nature. A vintage wool rug, originally woven in Afghanistan around fifty years ago, it has undergone a meticulous transformation. Through a “neutralization” process, its original colors have been softened while preserving the essence of its intricate design. It is then “overdyed,” a technique that enhances its aesthetic appeal with a striking and contemporary color effect.

1922 envisions the preservation of “imperfect” vintage rugs, pioneering a revolutionary movement in color restoration. Defined by its organic evolution, each piece is truly unique—once a traditional rug, now a contemporary work of art.
